Drop off and pickups

Classes will commence each day at 9.20a.m. and end at 2p.m. for Junior and Senior Infants and at 3p.m for classes 1 to 6.
This year we have a new drop off and pick up system in place. Details are to be found under the Covid 19 tab.
Please do not allow your child to climb the school wall or the fence.
The school must be notified if there are any changes to the collection arrangements for your child e.g. a different person collecting your child for an appointment during school hours or after school, other than a parent/guardian. We will not allow children to be collected by a person unknown to us without prior notification from parent/guardian. (Child Protection Policy)

School Uniform

School uniform consists of a grey skirt/pinafore/pants, grey socks or tights, dark shoes, light blue shirt, navy tie and grey jumper or cardigan with school crest. These can be purchased in Fennessy’s in William Street, Limerick. Different coloured leggings/tights are not permitted.
Please make sure all belongings are marked with your child's name.

Children wear the school tracksuit and polo shirt & appropriate sports shoes on the day they have P.E./sporting activities. In the summer months, plain navy shorts may be worn with the blue polo shirt each day.

Medical Conditions

At the start of the new academic year, it is necessary that parents provide us with up-to-date information regarding any potentially serious allergy or your child may have, which necessitates the use of regular medication. Please contact the school or the class teacher to discuss this so that appropriate procedures may be put in place. Parents must sign an “Administration of Medication” form at the start of the school year, with details of any changes in their child’s medication, inhalers etc. This form is available from the school office. Make sure your child’s inhaler/medication is in date before sending it to the school.

Attendance at School

It is very important that your child attends school regularly. All absences must be explained, according to “ TUSLA” regulations, formerly (National Educational Welfare Board) Use the absence section in your child’s homework diary for this purpose or in the case of Junior & Senior Infants, please write a note to the class teacher, on your child’s return to school. It is not necessary to phone the office, a note will suffice. In so far as it is possible, dental and medical appointments should be arranged for out of school hours. It is school policy that children leaving and returning to school must be signed in/out by a parent or guardian.

Finances
We understand the stresses and strains of modern life and do our best to keep costs to a minimum.
Our school does not charge a ‘Voluntary Contribution‘ and any money paid goes directly back to your child for activities and resources used by your child.
We have a very good Book Rental System running in our school for the last number of years. This greatly reduces the costs to parents.
Our Parents Association are a fantastic support to us and contribute to outings by subsidising the cost of the busses, keeping costs down for parents.

Nevertheless, some families may still find the costs associated with school too much to bear. Please make a call to the office to discuss if you find yourself in this situation. All information will be dealt with in the strictest confidence.
